Practice Notes 12-30-2008

Hi Girls,

1- Another great shootout during scrimmge in practice today. Very impressed with the continued improvement of the whole team.

2- Thought Jennifer had a great practice making plays by penetrating and seeing the court. I thought Jamie had a very good practice playing at the point for the Blue. She did a nice job making some good passes. Remember the PG is a distributor of the ball, they get the ball to players in their best scoring positions. Thats why they are called "playmakers", they are able to envision and make plays for the other positions on the team. We all know what Ashton and Courtney can do but I was also impressed with the hustle and rebounding of Meredith, Kaylee and especially Kaela. Rebounding is about 90 percent wanting the ball, keep up the good work.

3- Not to leave anyone out I saw good plays from the whole team both Blue and White. I feel like we are taking it up a notch right now. Lets keep pushing it and see where it takes us. That was a nice 3 Destiny had.

4- The last practice of this year is tomorrow at 11:30 to 1:00. Our next practice time will be next year. 2009!

5- Happy New Year in case I forget to tell you in practice tomorrow.

6- A closing thought to think about. " Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Character is what you really are, reputation is merely what you are perceived to be".

From John Wooden legendary Coach and 11 time National Champions.

7- Now one about basketball skills from John Wooden: Skill in basketball is not enough by itself, not only must you be able to do your job properly you must also be able to execute it quickly. Practice to get better at both.

8- Remember we play Bethel Christian at Northeast Academy Friday January 2, 2009 at 6:15pm, try to be there by 5:00pm. We will meet in the locker room at the end of the third quarter. BRING BOTH UNIFORMS, WE DO NOT KNOW YET IF WE WILL BE WHITE OR GREEN BUT I THINK WE WILL BE WHITE BOTH NIGHTS.

Play Hard, Play Smart, Play Together Go Vikings
