Hi Girls;
I am going to create this space on the blog for the RRHS stats. I will get back to putting in the numbers later. As you know the final score was 29 to 53 and we did not play with the energy or the execution I felt we should have had. It was disappointing but as I have continued to say it was not an important game to us. Myself I would have much rather had practice to get ready for the conference game vs. APA. It might have been worth a point or two.
I was told today that our game got a big write up in the Herald. Just so you girls will know, I have been sending in the story and stats of the majority of our JV wins. I have no idea if they are ever printed since I do not subscribe to the Daily Herald. I do not send in the losses(normally) but I would if some individual had a earth shaking game.
I just wish they would tell the whole story and say they pulled 3 girls off the Varsity because they were not sure their regular JV could beat us and they wanted to protect their undefeated season. I understand RRHS is off our basketball schedule for next season and the difference in their rules and our rules are a part of it.
Stats:
1- Scoring: Lindy 8 pts, Alex 7 pts, Jamie 6 pts, Jesse 4 pts, Casey 2 pts, Emily 2 pts.
2- FG%: Team 41.9%** Individuals: Alex 3/4***, Lindy 3/5***, Jamie 3/5***, Emily 1/2**,
Casey 1/3*, Renee o/1, Megan 0/1, Jordan 0/4.
3- FT%: Team 100%****; Lindy 2/2**** Thats all we had, they must not foul.
4- Reb's: Team 20; Lindy 4** (3d/1off), Emily 3*(2d/1off), Jesse 3* (2d/1off), Mer 3* (3d),
Caroline 3*(2d/1off), Alex 2D*, Renee 2D*, Jordan 1D*.
5- Steals: Team 19; Jamie 6***, Jesse 5***, Lindy 3**, Lindsey 2*, Alex 2*, Caroline 1*
6- Turnovers: Team 11; Lindsey 3, Jamie 2, Casey 2, Jesse 2, Mer 1, Alex 1.
7- Blocks: Team 10; Renee 2**, Lindsey 2**, Jamie 1*, Jesse 1*, Emily 1*, Caroline 1*.
8- Assists: Team 3; Lindy 1, Jamie 1, Casey 1.
9- RR Scoring: #4 V. Edmunds 17 pts, #22 K. Moss 8pts, #31 B. Whitlow 8 pts,
#21 N Wright 6 pts, #10 A. Potter 4pts, #32 K. Murray 4 pts, #14 S. Abernathy 4pts,
L. Simmons 2 pts.
10- Scoring by quarters: 2 to 13, 14 to 16, 8 to 12, 5 to 12.
Final Thoughts: I would have liked to have played RRHS without the 3 girls(Edmunds, Potter and Whitlow) that came down from the Varsity. I think it would have been a great game. Those three girls scored 29 of their points and certainly made them a much tougher team to score on. RRJV beat Kerr Vance by 2 points with their regular JV players and we beat Kerr Vance by 1 point. They are a good team and it would be interesting how they would finish in our conference as a private academy team where it is against the rules to move players back and forth from the Varsity down to the JV.
Play Hard, Play Smart, Play Together.
